JC76 - just don't wait too long. I was going to do it on a Saturday a week and a half before my due date. I went into labor on Thursday night!

Just an update to this thread. It's totally worth it. You will find out so much about your car seat.
They say not to use mirrors that attach to the headrests. If you get in an accident, your child's head might ram against the mirror. OR, the mirror may shatter and your kid is sitting in a pile of glass.married to an anesthesia attending

Those mirrors are shatterproof- I think they are made of plastic with a piece of tinfoil stuff over it.Last edited by Cumberland; 07-22-2009, 07:12 PM.Mom to three wild women.

I'm confused. Which mirrors are you guys talking about. I am thinking about those mirrors that attach to the head rest so that the baby can see itself. I can not imagine those shattering EVER. They're made from that flexi mirror material. And those have never been a distraction to my driving seeing that I would have to completely turn around in my seat to even view it.

I haven't heard about baby mirrors shattering but I have heard that it's not a good idea to keep baby mirrors or any hard objects not a part of the car, i.e. cds, change etc. in the car as they can become dangerous projectiles in a crash. With kids though, that's easier said than done.

I honestly don't know what's out there on the market as far as mirrors are concerned, but from what I understood from the inspector, he was talking about the type that attach to the seat so that the baby can see itself and you can see it, too. Maybe he didn't know that they're basically indestructible these days...married to an anesthesia attending
