Re: kids' art. I scan J's art and compile it in a photobook when picaboo/shutterfly/snapfish have a sale. Then I can toss the originals that I don't absolutely love.

What a great idea! I scan the artwork / worksheets that she is especially proud of into folders labeled by grade (ie - Natalie - preschool, Elena - preschool) the day they come home from school. The folder with the scans is linked to our screen saver so we get to see their works of art when the computer is not being used.

I love the idea of making a photobook! They would really get a kick out of that!

For organization - we have a big wall calendar that everything gets written down on - Sam's work schedule, skating lessons, important days for school, dr appts. Every person has a color and their appointments get written in that color. I have a small calendar in my purse that I keep updated with all of the dates as well so if I'm at the dr and need to make a follow up appointment I can do it right there and not have to call back. It is kind of a pain to keep everything up to date by hand, but I'm an old fashioned girl. 8 )

I also have a "home management binder" where I keep all of our important information - contact numbers, the menu for school, the class times for the gym, etc. I have a school tab where I keep stuff that I need - right now it has the uniform policy (we're going to a new school this year) and the supply list for what the kids need this year, and forms that need to be filled out and returned on the first day. Here is a link if you want to make one - http://iheartorganizing.blogspot.com...hold_9757.html I don't have all of the tabs that she does but I do find the binder to be useful.
