I tell you, Luanne, you have the BEST ideas!!

*fingers crossed* I feel very lucky this year. DS has ZERO busy work. He does have a student planner, which I think is a little silly, but I think it will instill good habits of writing down assignments. I have to initial it or he doesn't get a sticker *eyeroll*. But I'm okay with it because that's ALL I'm doing. Every night he reads on his own for 10 minutes (I help sometimes with pronounciations) and he has a spelling and/or math sheet to do. But it's REAL work. No pictures to draw, no different colors, no number stories...YAY!!!! He is SO much happier this year. And you know what? He's doing FINE!! DD is unfortunately in the first grade Everyday Math program. Enough said.

The kindergarteners have very seldom homework. YAY!

Hope things get better for you guys.

A stamp is so much easier than all of those signatures, especially if you have several children. If the school gets used to you using a signature stamp (claim arthritis if they are a-holes about it), they won't even question when your 11th /12th grader uses it!!!!!
