So it just hit me the other day that it's very unlikely that DH will ever see DS's preschool. Kind of sad about this but I realize I'm not the only one. Just curious how many of your spouses will never or rarely see the inside of your kids school/classroom. Is it worth taking a half day/vacation day to make this happen before the end of the school year? When I went to orientation night, I was the only parent there without a spouse Tis the life I guess.

Dh does the kid drop off whenever possible (usually the high school drop off is easy for him) and we typically scheduled a day off for the first and last days of school so he could be there and then periodically during the year.Tara

I do all the orientation, parent meetings, etc. myself. But (when he was living in STL), DH would occasionally pop over to the girls' nursery school, which is on the hospital campus. DH also did a presentation for DS's class one day on his vacation week--he presented on...surprise, surprise...the brain! The kids LOVED it!

It's our dining room. He does science experiments after ballet class 1-2 nights a week. When they went to Catholic school he was there as often as possible. He'd have lunch with the girls on his way home after being on call or would stop in to give a talk or help with a class party.Veronica

I had that same thought "Wow he's never going to set foot in this place." I also felt weird that he would never meet the weekday sitter, since she spends hours each week in his home and with his kids.
He has ended up doing each of those once so far, though.

DH hasn't seen the inside of the preschool only the outside from across the street, same with the ballet studio. He has however seen the inside of the gym and picked up DD from that childcare area at the gym.Wife to PGY5. Mommy to baby girl born 11/2009. Cat mommy since 2002

My husband is coming to M's preschool open houses to select the ones we apply to. I'm involving him in this process every step of the way. I also fully expect him to participate in class projects, show and tell, field trips. All. Of. It.married to an anesthesia attending

Dh has been inside once, when we first moved here & met with the director & toured the class rooms. We have left this preschool as of last week though. Not sure if he'll see the next one. I'm sure he'd like to but not sure it will happen.Wife to Hand Surgeon just out of training, mom to two lovely kittys and little boy, O, born in Sept 08.
