I had to take DS10 to his Dr appts which were INCREDIBLY slow. It's always a bad sign when you see your doctor LEAVING the clinic as you arrive... Probably going to eat breakfast or round or something. UGH! Anyway, after waiting about 1 hour, we finally got in, yadda yadda yadda. Allergy shots after peds endo, then lab work, so it turned into an All Day Affair which is typical when we go to the doctor appts.
Finally I get DS back to school, and the attendance lady says, "you realize he won't get credit for today, since there's only 1.5 hours left of school."
Me: "That's fine. He was at a Dr Appt. Nothing I can do about it."
She: "Well, he won't get credit for the day. Do you just want to take him home?"
Steven, standing right by me: "Yes! Can I please? I want to go home!!"
Me: "No. You are at school, you need to go. You have a test."
What the heck!!! Why would the attendance person say that? I could not care less if he gets "credit" for the school day. That's code for the school gets PAID for his attendance that day anyway. Whatever.
So frustrating.
He missed only about 1 hour of instructional time anyway-- mostly the day was art and lunch and pe and maybe 1 hour of math!
