We went with the leappad 2 for dd4. She spends so much time in the car as we drive around. She likes the iPhone apps, but I thought she can have something of her own with a bit more depth to the games than the iPhone apps offer. She loves the games-- monkey preschool lunchbox, etc, but they repeat over and over.

I got dd11 the kindle fire, and the boys Nintendo 3ds xls. I could definitely argue that ds11 does not need a ds still but he plays with ds8 and they trade Pokemon or whatever and ds11s ds lite is broken. And I guess the future games will all be 3ds-- no point getting the dsi which is only about $30 cheaper than the 3ds (and the special deals on the 3ds xl make them almost as cheap as a 3ds regular). Ugh. This is an electronic Christmas.
