  • Candy land?

I wanted to get this for my dd(3) and went to order it and found they've changed the game!! First off, 1-star reviews all around because it has SEXY characters (why?!) and the graphics are super crowded on the board. Secondly, I liked the classic version because it really isn't gender specific (read: girly)... my brother and I used to play it as kids and loved it.

Anyone have the classic version they don't use anymore and would be willing to sell me?

What other games do your 3-year-olds like? Love suggestions here.

I think you can find different versions - like if you look on Toys R Us they say versions vary. So you might just have to try a few toy stores to find one that isn't "sexy." The one my kids have is about 3 or 4 years old and its more animated then the one we played as kids but the characters are definitely not sexy.

Chutes and ladders, any of the memory games (I would start out by sorting just 8 sets for a 4x4 board so that it was easier for them when they were little, increasing the number of pieces as they got older)

puzzles are a huge hit here - 16-25 pieces at her age

The board game Trouble - it is for older kids, but with coaching a little one can play, and it isn't mind-numbing for grown ups.

If anyone can find Pretty Pretty Princess for me (for not the $40-$80 it's going for on Amazon) I'll love you forever...

Thanks! I'll have to think. It's still so expensive for a freakin' game!

                          Candy land?

You could always get some costume jewelry, tiaras, etc. at the dollar store and make your own version (the rules are on Hasbro's website)...

ST - I'll check my stash of old toys. We have it but I'm not sure if it's in good condition.
