Today was the first day of second grade for my DS7. I know we're one of the last ones to start (and DD5 still doesn't even start until Monday!)
I'm so torn. I miss him like crazy already and I'm so anxious for this school year to go well for him. But even with one still at home, the house is so QUIET and I'm already getting more stuff done! Plus DH is going to take DD for a daddy-daughter date this afternoon, and has promised her that they will do this regularly this year, whenever he's off work and she's off kindergarten.
In which camp do you fall, throwing parental celebrations as you shoo your kids out the door, or sobbing in the school parking lot and peeking in the classroom windows all day?
(I am pretty sure I'm the only parent who doesn't walk my kids to class on their first day. My Facebook feed is full of photos by parents of their kids at their new desks. My guy didn't even want me to walk him to the bus stop!)
