  • Pre-K

DS1 is old enough to enroll in Pre-K for fall. Where did the time go?! I am checking out places for VPK and touring facilities.

So crazy to think about. I still think of him like this:

Just got the call a few moments ago - C got into a multi-age preschool near our house (there was a lottery/waiting list, it's inexpensive but the waitlist makes it hard)!!! She was enrolled in the 3Day Threes class but now has a spot in the 3-4 multi age classes. I think it's going to be great for her socially - she's pretty shy/quiet so it'll be good to get her used to more noise and in areas where she already knows things like letters/numbers, she'll be able to work with the 4 year olds.

The multi-age thing is one thing I really love about Montessori so I'm excited that we can approximate that piece at least! I think it's so beneficial since it allows kids to have peers in areas where they are "advanced" AND "behind" and feel normal.

It's bittersweet for me because I have always wanted to homeschool her but I feel like I cannot hold her back right now without knowing if I even CAN homeschool because of the job situation.

Just a heads-up since we have the same kids At the most recent parent night, we discovered that A has been sandbagging. She pretends not to be able to do things that she clearly does at home because she likes the attention from the teachers (that's what she said her reason was). Regardless, we feel like she gets a lot out of school in terms of peer relations, being in a classroom, etc.

We find out teacher and classmates two days before school starts. This annoys the hell out of me even though I understand why they do it.
