Gesell Testing

Has anyone had their child do this? The preschool we go to offers this and recommends it for every child there. It is supposed to test Kindergarten readiness from what I gather?

Is it worth it or helpful at all? I'm not really concerned at all about my oldest's readiness for Kindergarten and the test is $55.

Our preschool teacher did a screen of social, language, pre-reading skills and things as part of our state's preschool-to-school transition program, but it wasn't super formalized and it certainly didn't cost. That's weird. I did find it useful to verify that my kids were solid on the non-academic stuf like motor skills and social skills, but yeah. It's kindergarten. She's a super adjusted and bright kiddo from a solid family. I'm pretty sure she's going to be okay.

What is Gesell Testing? I've never heard of it.
