Whoa boy. Just took my soon-to-be-Freshman to see this and it was like watching a freaking documentary of our lives. Parental warning I'd be really hesitant to take a kid under 13 years old because there is strong language, references to porn, swear words, and a tough scene where the line of consent is fast and loose. With this being said, holy moly. It is pitch perfect to the awkwardness of adolescence against the backdrop of a constant online presence. My daughter loved it and it has spurred on several great conversations about lots of relevant topics. It is a love letter to the socially awkward among us.

      What did you think?

I totally appreciated the part where Kayla was distant and snappy and Dad was bewildered. Then to see things from her side, her life was so lonely and anxious and Dad was just her safe spot. I really felt that.

I took my soon to be freshman and senior girls to see it and it completely resonated with all of us. The one sided dinner conversation was as if someone read my diary. Sometimes communication is impossible with the damn phones out!! Yep, this movie captures this period of time pretty accurately and nails the socially awkwardness.
