She apologized last night. It was sort of like Anne of Green Gables (remember when she apologized for the brooch and it was just so contrived?)... Anyway, whatever.
So after the apology, that is when the 7 day restriction starts... Sucks for her that there are 2 days of no-school this week. Severely limits her socializing...
She was thinking she'd get her phone for school- you know, to text me when she got on the bus... Yeah, um, I don't think so.
Sigh.
I hope I'm as restrictive with the younger ones, but I swear I am just exhausted. I am beaten down... I don't know if I'll have it in me. We *almost* took down her door when she was in 6th grade. That was a very very bad time. *shudder* She knows the threat is there...
That's a good analogy about the 70% being good enough-- I'll have to remember that one.Peggy
Aloha from paradise! And the other side of training!

I remember when I lost phone privileges. (of course, this was in 1983- the phone was attached to the wall in the kitchen) I thought I was going to die. My friend tried every excuse in the book to try to get me on the phone including, "I have to talk to her about an assignment" which was the stupidest one ever because she was in the G/T program and I wasn't and everyone knew it!

When she expressed her concern he answered with "it's passing - if it is good enough for the school, why is not good enough for you?" the next day she only fed him 70% of his meal (which he did not notice). What he did notice was when she told him to get out of the car 70% on the way to school. When he protested, she answered "if it is good enough for you, it is good enough for me" - dude also only got 70% of his allowance, time watching tv, etc.
love this!Charlene~Married to an attending Ophtho Mudphud and Mom to 2 daughters
