  • Gift Ideas for 12yo Boy?

My friend's son is turning 12. He's into legos, Sherlock Holms, Wii, some geeky stuff. Not athletic or outdoorsy but she's trying to force him to be more active and get out of the house. He does boy scouts. What does he want for his birthday (other than a girlfriend).

He probably doesn't want a girlfriend anyway.

My 12 year old requested the perplexus maze game. It's not outdoors, but it's not a video game either. He plays with it all the time.

Aloha from paradise! And the other side of training!

I go with gift cards to Target, Dick's, or Best Buy, or itunes cards. My soon-to-be 12 y.o. loves Nike Elite socks and goes through earbuds like they are disposable.

Have you seen the BBC version of Sherlock Holmes called "Sherlock". We barely ever watch TV but that show is AWESOME. The first two seasons are out on DVD.

Well, to be fair it's not just them, Steven Moffat was busy with Dr. Who and other things as well. Damn if Benedict Cumberbatch isn't the crazy-busiest actor ANYWHERE, though, this last year or two.

Our little dude is 11 and I have to use a crow bar to get his ass outside. That is, unless there's a Slip-n-Slide up. He FLOVES that thing and it gets him outside playing.

DH and his siblings have always been crazy into board games...weird rare ones you have never heard of, like munchkin. A GameStop gift card might be a safe bet. We've been getting BIL that for years now

Nike Elite socks are awesome. I know his mom is trying to get him outdoors but it is his birthday so I'd get him something he would enjoy. A Game Stop gift card would be great!

If mom is trying to get him outside, a Game Stop gift card might be the wrong gift If he's kind of nerdy and in scouts, what about something for him to go geocaching? WGW - any ideas???

Munchkin is an awesome board game. You can get it at B and N usually. Good idea ST. How about a rocket? We always had luck sending our kids out in a big field with a homemade rocket to launch from Michael's. Also, remote control cars and the mini helicopters are well received here but tend to break quickly after a few months.

Whoops missed the part about getting him outside.

Munchkin also has endless expansion packs. Guess how I know this????
