  • Where are all the moms-of-teens bloggers?

They don't write anymore and here's why.

This article spoke to me. It was definitely true for. My parenting experience. It's also why the younger parenting forums are hopping and this one is slow...

    Yes!!!!

The chaos. The attitude. The stress. That's why when something exciting happens (like picking a college major) I spread the joy. Next week he will be lonely, sullen, and we'll be arguing about pot. Well, I hope not.

I relate to the not being able to share. Typing stuff out online is too unsafe...I have no plausible deniability if they find out I shared something they don't approve of sharing. If we were speaking IRL, I think we might confide more and help more, because there's no written record.

I wish more iMSNers with teen kids lived nearby - I'd make you join a bowling league with me!

Ironically things go quiet when you most need the camaraderie. It's a lonely, crazy ride.

I just read that this morning, and thought of all of our moms of teenagers here! It makes sense that it's harder to write teenager stuff on the Internet, since they're more likely to read it.

So true. Wonder how the next generation of mommies - the true blogger, Pinterest raising mommies- will handle the teen years.

the wild and wacky thing is that I can give you equally divergent posts and be truthful:

He is so easy going, well liked, doing well in school, responsible, ethical, good looking etc., ad infinitum

              followed quickly by

The dipshit and his friends decided it might be fun to lay on the roof of a moving car because you know, we went real, real slow.

They are both true statements. I don't feel like either baggy mom or holy shit he's-lost-his-damn-mind posts are approrpriate.

Yes, I find it boarders on disrespect to share both good and bad about our kiddos. Not so much because they wouldn't want me too but simply because it's not really my news to share all the time. I don't know, it's just a really fine line we parents walk.
