I've cried most of the day. My face looks like shit. Which sucks because I have a new parent orientation for middle school in 2.5 hours. It's so bizarre. I never cried at a kindergarten drop off (x 4). I felt relieved. I felt happy for their healthy milestones, and happy to have some time to shave my legs. I love early elementary. It's magical. I just watched a 4th grade orchestra and it was horribly out of tune and equally cute. I just can't believe this chapter of L's life is over. I'm not an overly sentimental person, but I'm a mess today (hello subconscious, I dread our encounters). I truly wish I could freeze time. I would hang here for a while. I know it's selfish. L is super exicted about middle school which is healthy. I'm just a mess.

Thanks for the love and support. I just needed to cry it out yesterday and release all those feelings. Wee bit embarrassing with puffy eyes, but the moms all got it. This middle school is 7th and 8th grade with over 400 students. It's a well oiled machine. They break the kids into "halls" and they really don't leave those halls much. There are basic studies and different teachers in each hallway. We found out next week which hall L will be in. It's a big deal and your siblings get the same halls. Go Gryfinndor!-Ladybug

Hugs to you. The milestones change, but I promise that at some magical point, they really do get even better!!!Luanne

Hugs. I get emotional just anticipating these milestones. I've warned my kids that I will likely cry at every one of their school assemblies.

I'm so glad it went well! Sounds like a good sized middle school. You will all do great! Heads up: this is the year the driving and daily schedules start to kick into high gear! Lots of excitement to be sure!Tara
