  • Internet breaks

Thomas and I took Zoe out to dinner to tell her we have decided to turn off the Internet every Sunday from 10-2 to encourage reading, communication and maybe play a game.

Zoe’s response: So you don’t like me as much as other kids. You don’t care about my self-esteem and my online relationships. You want me to hate reading.

Uh. That’s a lot of drama.

She negotiated with Thomas that instead of turning off the internet 4 hours on Sundays, she will read for 45 min each night with no devices. He accepted the compromise. Now to enforce reading time.
