i always had one growing up. dh and i had a huge one, pre med school and we never had problems.

we got one for the kids and im having problems. we have tested the water and the levels are good, but the water is cloudy and i have lost a few fish.

    thoughts?

If it's a new tank, you need to cycle the tank with some fish you wouldn't mind losing. They say it usually takes about a month but there are ways to speed up the process. Just search the web for "fish" and "cycle".

What are the numbers when you test? What kind of filter do you have?

        i forgot i posted this

our tank has stabilized, and has been for a while now. in fact, we have babies! i forgot how fast gupies multiply.

we have nine babies, and two more pregnant fish. should be interesting. i think i may have to talk my friend into getting a tank.
