What do you buy/sell on ebay?

I have sold 6 chick lit type books that were just sitting on my shelf - and I've made over $30 by listing them on ebay. It's probably a waste of time because it takes a bit of time to post the books, but it's $$$ and if we were to move, I'd probably just throw them away...

I love ebay! I'm a consumer too. I'm scared to try to sell something.... Sometimes I forget to follow through with stuff.

I bought most of DDs cloth diapers on ebay, my pump (new), a few diaper bags, a bottle warmer (which we never used) and some other baby stuff.

I'm not good at browsing - there are too many choices for me. But, if I am looking for something specific I can usually find what I need....er...want...er need!!!

I buy and sell on ebay often. Everything from our wedding bands to junk my parents wanted to get rid of to the cheap rugs I bought for my floors.

I always check ebay before I buy anything becausechances are you can find it- (whatever "it" is just like the commercials.

I've been looking for some Elie Tahari tops. Dh buys camera equipment. We buy stuff too...

My diss adviser is a big ebayer. She's been known to carry on a conversation about what she's bidding on with my brother.

I'm off to send off some of my books now. Bidding's over.

Alison - try 1/2 Price Books. My guess is they have them in Chicago. I sold several boxes of books there before we moved. Not great $, but $ nonetheless, and no mailing.

As for buying on ebay - I've bought kids clothes, dh's watch, Indian clothing, a slipcover for the couch ... Haven't sold a thing. I'm SO bad about making it to the post office that I fear I'd get a negative mark on my record.

Thanks, Jenn. Could you give me an idea of what they give you for a book? I mean, I was thinking I was making good $ because I'm eliminating the middle man. But you're right, the trips to the post office are NOT fun. I'm combining it with a trip to Starbucks to spend all my earnings.

It's not a lot, and depends on the quality. I sold 3 big boxes of books and was THRILLED w/$89-ish (I think there is an old thread around here about it b/c we were flat broke at the time). But as you said - it's better than throwing them out. If you consider $5/book, think of your packaging, time to the post office, and your stop at Starbucks .... $1 or $2 / book isn't too bad.

I buy and sell on eBay fairly often but it usually goes in spurts.

I have bought: shoes, OPI nail polish (new), VS bras (new), stationary, personalized book plates, sterling silver jewelry, perfume, camera tripod, books, clothing, cocktail dresses, scholars rock from china, magazine subscriptions (!!!!)

I have sold: books, clothing, shoes, bags, bedding, etc.

                Ebay rocks. So does CL.

You're right, Jesher. People win auctions and then take FOREVER to pay. What a pain!

I have only bought never sold. Don't really think that I have anything worth the time it may take. I have bought lotion, cameras, jewelry (silver), books, china (mine was discontinued). I never have bought clothes/shoes because I am afraid they will not fit right.

I do have to admit that I tend to check first on ebay before making many purchases.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Just an update here. I sold about 20 books (chick-lit, some medical books, some travel guides) and made $200!

Nicely done! I just put up a bunch of stuff online last night. I've GOT to clean out my closet.
