  • will my trees be leaf-less?

Spring had arrived here about a month ago, and our trees were almost full of leaves by the time the foolishness of last week happened. Over the course of last week, we had at least one frost, and one actual snow. Now the leaves on my backyard trees look dead! Will they fall off and new ones grow? Or am I left with shriveled, dead leaves for the duration of the summer?

Let me just say that if this stupid weather has screwed up my lilac bush so that it doesn't bloom ... I'm going to find SOMEONE to blame.

Jenn...same here...and all of my perennials had started coming up. They are now shriveled and wilted. If I have to replace all of my perennials I will cry.

I would hope that your perinnials would come back next year and just be not as robust this year. After a year or two, they are pretty hearty.

I've had that happen with a lilac and didn't get much in the way of flowering. Our blueberries were totally thrashed by early hot weather and then a cold snap. They look great this year and have lots of blossoms.

The trees have been in since before we moved here. I assume they were planted at least 1 to 2 years before. The lilac bush hadn't bloomed yet -- just little green buds. They look like they're still intact, so I'm hopeful.

I guess I didn't think the trees would die, but I don't want to have dead leaves on them all summer (or no leaves).

Too bad Janet gave up internet access! Anyone know how to find her?

2 of our 3 Ficus trees in the back died...the 3rd one will need serious grooming as new leaves have sprouted down low .
