  • our pool man fired us

Our pool has had a consistent algae problem this whole summer. We had this problem before- it is called mustard algae and unless you really attack it, it keeps coming back. We have told the pool guy over and over that is what it was. Finally, this week I called him and told him we were ending service with him unless it was resolved by the end of the week.

He called me back and politely said it was 'time to discontinue the relationship' since we were expecting more than once a week service. His exact words were 'your pool chemicals are perfectly balanced and I dont know what else you want me to do'. Our pool right now is the color of a lily pad-I pay him to make it clear blue!

So pretty much DH has to fix it, but we are going out of town this weekend and it is just going to get worse in this terrible heat. Sucks. I am off to explore Angie's List.

That's BS...hasn't he heard of the various algae-cides??!!!
When they treat our pool for algae, they leave a note and tell us not to swim for up to 72 hours. BTW did he ever back wash or clean up your filters? Those are 2 things that have to be done everytime your pool goes green/yellow.
Call your local Leslies and see how much thye would charge to come out & diagnose as well as fix the problem!
