  • Carpet cleaners

My neighbor has an Oreck (runs about $450 I think). I've used it before and it does an okay job. DH has also rented a rug doctor, which was good - but not great. I've had the carpets cleaned professionally twice, and I think it's totally worth the money. I see the steam cleaners as a way to more thrououghly clean a stain, but not for the major maintenance. That's why I love my spotbot.

    Re: Carpet cleaners

We rented a rug cleaner before we put a house on the market. It worked but we had to clean it twice.

Maybe get it done professionally and then get something to use at home for maintenance? Great suggestion -- sorry...I'm sure you really want to pay for both.

Steam carpet cleaning is the only way to deep clean your carpets so giving it importance is vital.
