livingroom and dining which we spruced up too.

I need a better angle to post of the livingroom... Those dark things on the wall are clips for my quilted wall hanging... which isn't done yet... soon though, I hope...

That's my swanky (to me at least , quite the step up from our K-mart table we got when married!) table that I bought from Craigslist from a lady for $125!!!, with more money than she knew she had - can clearly had no clue that one of these chairs cost that much! I have to touch up the paint a little next spring... but I love it, a modern/country look

        Re: The before and after

We still have some touch ups, to do the doors, and the front hallway is being worked on by DH right now, but we worked so hard, we needed a break. DH did the floors in the kitchen, aren't they pretty Oh, and you can see the lights in the kitchen some of you helped me choose - I really like them.

And, in the kitchen, those aren't new cabinets. I saw this idea on HGTV, and convinced DH to do it So he cut a thin piece of wood, glued it over the dated inlay, and then secured it I think with nails. Add new paint, new hardware, wala new cabinets! They aren't made of the best quality wood, and some pieces they used would not sand smooth, have no clue why, but you can't tell unless you run your hands over them. Hey it's a heck of a lot cheaper than new cabinets, and I'm happy with the results

Thanks everyone, while I feel a little out of place still in our new town, this home, now feels like our home. And yeah, I like to keep things around that remind me of my very good friends - and that apron is SO cute!

Wow!!! I love the living room curtains that you made. Did you replace the doors on the kitchen cabinets and then go white? It looks fantastic.

Thanks Kris Um, not sure about what you mean about going white on the cabinets. The doors are the same doors, DH just cut a thin piece of wood and secured them over the old ugly inlay. After he secured them, I painted them with a green paint, and put poly onto of it. It was a LOT of work, but totally worth it!

In that first photo of the cabinets it looks white to me, too. Looking at subsequent pics I can see it's really a shade of green. It just photographed weird.

                              It looks great Julie!
