      Nellie-

Have you been peeking in my windows today? How did you know? Too bad we don't have a container store in Indy. The town is big enough that we should have one. I need some containers big time and someone to teach me how to organize big time! I am working on craft stuff right now.

Home Depot and Lowes both sell something similar though they aren't as easy to install or as high of quality -- but I hold the Elfa in high regard. After we put in the closet organizers here, DH will have installed over 15 of them. If this whole dawkter thing doesn't work out, he could be a professional organizer (because it is him, not me).

Nellie, did your Dh design your closet system too? If so, do you have any tips on closets systems?

I've been looking into a closet system for my dd's reach-in closet. (She needs shelving, especially, for toys, etc.). So far, I've been checking out Easy Closets, but I didn't know about Elfa. I'm a little nervous about designing her closet system myself. I'm afraid I'll screw it up somehow.

I took all the measurements and put them in here:
            http://www.containerstore.com/elfa/plan/index.jhtml

It is a little daunting but once you see the plan come together, it makes more sense. Once you have the tracks in for the shelves you can move them around a bit if that works better for you.

Here are kid's closets (scroll down) and shelving to give you some ideas:
            http://www.containerstore.com/browse/in ... ATID=77772

Since I had DD help me measure, I had DH help me measure again to double check. I submitted the info and then someone from The Container Store called me to discuss what I wanted. They do a plan and email it. It looks something like this:

I would suggest printing out that plan and looking at it while you look at the closet. Dh has more of a knack for looking at the plan and seeing how it will turn out than I do but it still isn't that hard. When you are all set, you can go in to the store and order it or call and have them get everything ready and just pick it up.

You can also take your measurements to the store and have them help you plan (no charge). I need more time to mull things over and prefer to do it from home. Also, when you talk to them on the phone to discuss the plan you can look at the closet while you are talking to them. They must be so patient. I can't be the only person who points to something in my closet while I'm talking to them before realizing they can't see it.
