  • A good day

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh .... My house is cleaner than it has been in AGES. In anticipation of the IL's scheduled visit (which has been pushed back to June ), I booked a cleaning lady for today. I found her on craigslist (so I was a little nervous at first), but she did a great job. She only charges $65 for a 4 bedroom 3 to 4 bath house!! My plan is to do this once a month - it's just such a nice treat.

After they left, I pulled a load of laundry from the dryer, sat down to fold, and lo and behold ... Bravo is running the West Wing today!!! A super-clean house AND the West Wing.

Enjoy it! It sounds like a lovely way to treat yourself. I might have to do that once I come back, though I never know what to do. Do I sit and watch TV while they work or do I follow them around like a hawk?

Now you have to go take a nice bubble bath in one of your freshly cleaned bathrooms. Heck, take a bath in each.

I tend to hang around to get a feel for what they're doing, and then head out. I'm uncomfortable sitting around while someone else works, and hate the idea of messing up what they've just cleaned, etc.

I always say housecleaners are much better than (insert word here!)!!

(I have a girlfriend who always inserts SEX -- but that's another topic! )

The point is, having someone clean your house is NIRVANNA.

I'm so happy you had such a nice day Jane!!! I read your post and went straight to Bravo but the West Wing shows were over by then! Bummer.

It was my last show I tune in to on a regular basis. I LOVE that show!

                  Re: A good day

Yeah - I've got six. I'll usually pop one in if I'm doing a lot of baking or something. I've seen them all so many times I don't have to pay a lot of attention.

I hope Bravo starts running them again.

As for other wonderful surprises -- THE JAYHAWKS WON! I totally admit I've never been super interested in the Jayhawks - but this tourney was just so exciting, it's hard not to get swept up in the whole thing. How can you beat the excitement of a 3 pointer w/2 seconds left to tie it and force overtime???????

And - back to the house stuff -- it's the morning and my house is STILL CLEAN!
