  • anyone want to help me pick out paint for the nursery?

I just had the paint guy come in to check the room out. He'll email me an estimate in the next 7 days.

So here's the scoop -- the room is in Devine Latte:

The color looks much more yellow online than in real life. Picture your basic taupe color.

I want to do two stripes at the top of the room about 18" thick each to add some color.

I'd like some kind of blue -- leaning towards a denim blue type color rather than something really dark or pastel. I'd also like a green that works with the pottery barn mossy green color they use in their bedding and basket liners but also works with a forest green and isn't too yellow.

For those of you that didn't see my other thread we are using these decals through out the room for added color:

The guy recommended Benjamin Moore paint for the best value since these are accent colors.

    Your thoughts?

Benjamin Moore has a new line of paint -- Aura or something like that -- and the color palette is similar to Devine. You could try to match up the Devine colors against those. Are you thinking denim or is there a Devine denim?

I just used the word "denim" to illustrate that I'm not really a person who likes really bright colors and to give some direction for what "blue" I'm talking about.

DS has Devine Swell in his room and I love how it looks for example.
The other color DS has in his room is an orange -- I forget the brand and color right now but it's more a "burnt" orange rather than a construction workers vest.

I don't need Devine Paint -- just good color suggestions.

I have a bunch of blues I'll go look at. I think those can be tricky. I think the Devine Denim looks a little dark -- that's why I was curious.

These are the Aura colors. There are some nice blues in here, I think. I can't find my color chips now but the ones around 450 or so might work.

ETA, the link didn't post. I put a shameful number of samples up but I don't think any are the hue you are looking for.

I just painted DS's room with three walls in Sherwin Williams' Rythmic Blue with an accent wall of Sherwin Williams' Kilim Beige as an accent wall.

Blue can be very overwhelming, dark, or melancholy IMHO. It took SEVEN different jars of paint samples to determine Rythmic Blue would work. You can buy pints of paint for $4.99 at SW, which is very, very helpful for those who don't enjoy the mad paint color skills that some of our members here enjoy. (BTW, I'm JEALOUS!!!)

When I started to roll the paint out, I felt overwhelmed by it's "blueness". ( I prefer warm colors but DS requested blue specifically).

My mom pulled out Pottery Barn Kids catalogue for inspiration and we decided on the SW Kilim Beige accent wall. The furniture is white PBK style bunk beds http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products ... frnbnk%7Ck and the comforters are Target's knock off of this: http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products ... bdgbqt%7Ck.

I'll see if I can post a picture.
