  • paint question

OK, first off, I finally bit the bullet and paid a painter to finish my upstairs hallway and trim (which I had half done for a year). Looks awesome! yay!!

Other issues... we are going to paint DS's room (finally!). It's currently all white (B.O.R.I.N.G.). I want to do some kind of denim (but not too dark) blue and a creamy yellow or maybe beige. We live in an older home with beautiful thick trim. I'm going to put a chair-rail up and do the blue color on one side and the yellow color on the other. Question about this...when you do a chair-rail and have 2 colors on either side, are you supposed to put the darker color on the top or bottom, or does it not matter?

Growing up, I had the anti-kid room (as in, I lived with the ugly orange flowered wallpaper with green vines that was there when we moved in). I am so excited to do a kids room!

I say go for the darker color on the bottom. Have fun!

I would put the darker color on the bottom so the room doesn't seem top heavy.

Plus the wear and tear/finger prints are hidden a bit more!
