    Re: Paint Colors

There's a Behr color that I tried (Nellie, Heidi and Jenn P have seen it, it's one of the splotches) and 100% of the people agreed it looked like really bad makeup. It was called Malt or something.

I love the 'process' of painting (picking colors, etc), and the actual painting but the prep is such a PITA.

I think I prefer the process too. It all sounds like a good idea until you actually start doing it. Because we have so much white trim that needs to be painted, we hired painters. Having them do the walls isn't a whole lot extra, hence having it all done at once and being under a deadline to pick out the colors.

I think I am almost there. I'll post another set of photos.

Here's the DR with another coat. I think some of the Martha Stewart blue was sneaking through. (If you see some shadow-y lines through this, it is a shadow cast by the stupid light fixture).

I put up another coat of the Healing Aloe (1562), Quiet Moments (1563) and Gray Mist (1570) in that order from top to bottom. The Gray Mist is new as of today. That is the one I'm leaning to. It is in the fandeck but not stocked in the samples at the store. Strange, but glad I came across it.

The paint isn't completely dry but close. I couldn't wait. I was running out of daylight.

Suz, if you are still searching etsy, this person will do custom drawer pulls, switchplates, etc.

She did the drawer pulls for Anna's room to match her quilt. They are really cute. I'll see if I have a photo of them to post.

            Re: Paint Colors

All hail Wedgewood Grey (BM historic color). I'm am so lovin' this color. I just put it up this week after scratching a can of grey paint. It looks much more blue on the BM site's color preview, but in our TV room it looks more grey (less light I think) with a funky blue undertone. Perfect, perfect, perfect. It's now my favorite room. :yippee:

So I'm mixing it with uber dark woods and chocolate curtains, and probably going kinda hollywood regency in this room. It's a big risk for me as the rest of the house is very traditional, but I thought this might be a fun change.

Here's the room (it's so hard to convey colors in home photos)

We'll probably have a piece custom built for this bumped out wall that will enclose a TV and all the equipment and movies, etc. DH was hesitant to do a built-in, but after Sally's music room I suggested a removable piece that looks like a built-in so that when we're selling it could be pitched either way, removable that looks like built-in.

I'm thinking about this rug. I'll just have to get it and see how it looks. I can always return it. And very small pops of orange against the grey-blue and dark browns. Either silver or mahogany picture frames with B&W photos.

              I like the rug!

My color swatches are in a box but I might have to go grab it to take a look. I think I have a wet sample of that color. It's a good one.

That's it. I'm going to go dig out the color swatches.

ETA: I got it out and noticed that Yarmouth Blue is at the bottom of that swatch. Love that color too though it never looks right with the amount of light we get.
