So, last night with less than an hour before leaving for a Halloween party, I decided to move our jack-o-lanterns and got candle wax all over the front of my costume! A quick trip to Mr. Google, and it came right off. I just thought I'd share, since it saved my costume.
First, scrape off as much as you can with your fingers or a butter knife. Then, get a piece of brown paper (like from a paper bag), and put it over the wax on the fabric. With an iron on low to medium, iron over the paper. The wax melts and is absorbed into the paper! The fabric was still a little stiff, but you couldn't see the wax any more, and I think that will be fine after I wash it.
