    We also have a front loader and were told to run one cycle a month with bleach either with or without stuff in the washer. We also leave the door cracked when we're not using it but I wouldn't recommend that if you have kids.

    I have also found that I needed to try a few of the HE detergents before I found one I thought really got things clean. Right now we're using a Wisk HE.

      So for those of you who have tried vinegar, you just dump it in and run a cycle?

        I put it in the soap dispenser but if you don't have one, I'd just let the water fill up and then dump it all in.

          Ok, I'm trying it!!

          It's so weird because they don't stink when they're dry but as soon as the get wet once, it's like instant stink-o.

            Interesting, very interesting. We have had bad stink issues since I left a load of laundry in for a loooong time after it was finished. I have now ordered some of the washer cleaner, and some dishwasher cleaner that Amazon oh-so-helpfully suggested!
