Oh man, I think I just outed myself as THE worst thread-starter. Tupperware!?!?

Oh well... I need to replace our entire fleet of Tupperware.

Do you have a favorite brand? Rubbermaid? A lesser-known but super-duper great line of plastic containers? A cheaper brand? A secret source?

I love my Tupperware... Being a poor college student when I first got married, I signed up to be a consultant.

1. Get starter set really cheap.
2. Have 3 parties. One can be your "introduction party" where you're the hostess, and another consultant does all the work. My mom volunteered to host one. So that left me only having to do one "real" party where I had to find someone to host.
3. You'll earn some bonus prizes (more Tupperware) from these three parties.
4. Go to consultant "rallies" once or twice a month where they have stuff you can buy as a consultant for 50% or more off. (Discontinued items, new releases, etc.)
5. Buy whatever else you want for 35% off.
6. Quit and keep all your super cheap Tupperware that will last for ages!

Hey, if someone IS a Tupperware person, can you let me know because I need to revamp as well.

That said, I'm like that lady in the Gladware commercials- ready to make them sign for the containers. Nikolai has lost two lunchboxes so far (one with his name on it so I guarantee no one stole it!) so he gets baggies only.

My parents have the 49 piece spin storage system and I LOVE it. Each piece has the exact same lid and there are three different sizes. They are great for portions. Except if you are looking to store sandwiches. My parents have a lazy Susan cabinet that they put it in, but unfortunately I don't have the space at the moment for it.

I actually had that and it's not terribly sturdy (at least for our use).

I like the new "snapware". Everything is color-coded, so dh doesn't yell out "I can't find a lid for this!" as often.

I like the rubbermaid set at Target

I like the "Lock-Lock" of containers. They come in plastic or glass and I buy them at an Asian grocery store but this looks like a good site to get them also.

I do have this and though it was terribly convenient, I pretty much stopped using it because as PP mentioned, it is not very sturdy, and I was worried about plastic leaching into my food since the quality was really really low
