  • Thanksgiving Table Setting

Does anyone do a fancy table for Thanksgiving? I am having the first ever one at our house, so I am not sure how to decorate for it... Any cheap ideas?

I have really plain glass cylinders that I fill with different things, depending on the time of year. For this year's Thanksgiving, I'm decorating a little more toward the Christmas side of life with sparkly red pillar candles surrounded by cranberries. I've also done fake leaves, acorns, and nuts during Thanksgiving. Keep in mind the size of your table and whether or not you're going to have food on the table. I keep my centerpiece simple because my table isn't very wide.

I use brandy snifter type glasses and fill them with fresh herbs and Ivy. I alternate these with tea lights and place them in a row down the center of the table.

I have a garden trug filled with pumpkins and gourds. I wanted to go find some leaves to add to it but it's raining today. It's big but I think it'll just go on the sideboard when the food is served. I'm also going to look for a linen table runner.

Nothing fancy here! Just the food and the dishes. We don't own China, so the everyday Ikea dishes will have to do. My daughter made a turkey out of a toilet paper roll. I suppose I could put that on the table.
