Propane heat

  • Propane heat

Does anyone have propane heat? Some of our radiators are making god-awful noise (as if they're about to rip themselves from the wall and crash through the floor) and some are totally quiet. Of course the noisiest ones are on the level of our master bedroom (does top floor have anything to do with it?). I tried calling the company that installed them to ask about it and may be get them replaced and was told that this is normal for propane heat and there's nothing they can do.

My parents have electric heat and were able to replace noisy units for quieter ones. Should I try calling more places to see what they say? I also don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for someone to come out, look at them and tell me they're perfectly fine or have them replaced only to make same noise. I understand that all radiators regardless of heat source will make some sort of noise but if possible I'd rather avoid waking up in the middle of the night because it sounds like something crashed through the wall.

We had those in a rental unit a couple years ago. We didn't have that loud sound, but the smell was not fun. Good luck!!!
