  • Floor padding for babies?

Our new place has hardwood floors, and I'm looking for some padding for the floor for dd's play area. Do you have any suggestions for those interlocking play mats (do they actually stay interlocking or do they come apart too easily). Or what about those rug-like tiles? What are they called again? The play area will unfortunately be smack-dab in our living room, so something that doesn't scream "I'm 1, and I've taken over the house with all my toys" would be great!

    TIA

FLOR are the tiles. They're pretty much the only thing that isn't going to scream "baby!". They aren't a lot of padding, but will provide traction, which is plenty, IMO.

Yeah, she isn't really a baby anymore, and does a pretty good job of plopping back down on her butt (instead of taking hard falls), so I'll check out the FLOR tiles. Thanks for reminding me of the name. I know that CB2 carries them, but we don't have one in our area. Off to google them!
Thanks, Jenn. I'm really mad at you for not telling me that they grow up so fast, btw.

Look for coupon codes for FLOR - you can usually find at least. Little something off. S will like how easy it is to keep them Clean & that he can just replace any with a real stain.

You should see my M. She's almost ready for college ...

Ha! I know what you mean! Your M is filling out those college apps.

Dh said to just get a carpet at ikea and call it a day. But, I think you're on to something with being able to replace ones that have seen better days.

God. I just re-read my post - it sounds like I'm drunk. I shouldn't post from my iPad.
