Now we are on to rugs - we definitely need one in the main living room and one under the dining room table. Here are the rooms.

Do I need one here? I have a feeling we won't actually use this space much...This is the same room as the dining room

Here are the ones I have found so far, I'd really like to not spend a ton since we're only here a year. I think I like hte first one best but again $300 is a lot.

Again - Ikea, and then also FLOR.

I looked at Ikea's website they had very little with color in it and I don't want to drive over there to find nothing. Where do you get the FLOR or do you just have to order it?

You have to order it. You can order samples before hand, too

FWIW, Ikea doesn't have anywhere near their full inventory on their website.

Um...I know I'm a cheapie, but I really wouldn't invest money or time in selecting rugs for a year. I'm sorry, I'm no fun. By all means, carry on.

I wouldn't spend much. You could try Lowes or Home Depot--sometimes they have standard sizes in neutral colors for very reasonable prices ( under $50).

Hadn't thought of a hardware store alison, that is a good idea. Maybe we could get a remnant.

We have to have rugs, the floors are so loud.

Hehe me too! I didn't even buy curtains in medical school because "It's only four years."

ETA, because I feel like I should contribute something useful... You might also try places like Ross, Marshalls, Tuesday Morning, etc. Sometimes they get some cute ones in.

I'm in the "why bother" camp, of course I also said to throw a blanket over the hole in your couch. Have fun whatever you decide

Cheri I was looking at some of the same rugs on the overstock site last week! We have the same color scheme. DH ended up finding one at Home Depot. It was cheap. I think it's ugly but I'm happy to have a place to put the baby down now. Personally I wouldn't spend $300 but I understand your desire to make your place nice and to attempt to feel settled in a short term home!

You might also check out Walmart or Bed Bath and Beyond in the section with the dorm stuff. I know it won't look great, but it will cost less, be a place for the kids to play, and you can send it to Goodwill before the next move.

So Alison gets the award for best idea! We found two great rugs at HD for less then one at almost every other place I looked.

As an aside I looked for a Wal-Mart this morning and our closest one is 20 miles away! I've got like 5 Targets in like 5 miles!

I love FLOR because I'm about to order two new sections for the sections that for whatever reason my dogs poop on occasionally. So, they're out, new ones will be in and no one will be the wiser.
