Anyone have any suggestions for keeping light furniture pieces from being so easily slideable on hardwood?

Our heavier furniture slides easily on our hardwoods, even the ones that are partially on the rug.

Cheap and easy and available pretty much everywhere is a padding (like rubber or I don't really know what material it is), but it is in a weave pattern, and you can cut it to any size and place it under your furniture to lessen the sliding. It's usually sold in rolls by the drawer liners.

I wondered if that would work Heidi, its basically the same stuff we have under our rug...

Yep, that is what I was going to suggest. We have an old rocking chair that kept sliding, I took some of that rubber (?) padding (had some left over from cutting it to fit a round rug) and cut it to size and glued it to the bottom of the chair. Works great!

That's what we use - gripper shelf liner. You can cut it down so it doesn't even show.

We used it for years - double-sided tape and some shelf liner...even worked on our sectional!

Our furniture is just on top of it (but it's bedroom furniture so won't really get moved). No glue or tape
