Taking down artwork for showing house?

I know that it's good to remove family pictures from the walls when you are showing your house, but what about art? Framed prints, posters, etc. nothing precious (except for 1 original from a great uncle) but I don't think anything is junky. ??? Do you leave the walls completely bare? Or keep one piece per wall?

I'd stick with maybe 1/wall and very generic looking pieces. Nothing political, religious, or otherwise provocative.

Political posters??? I have print of wall street set in the 40s that I like. Is that political?

I do have a lovely depiction of Jerusalem that my patents got on a trip to Israel. It's really gorgeous and right by my front door. I don't know if people would catch that it's Jerusalem...

And I have our family name on papyrus written in Arabic...

So maybe I have more "political" things than I thought. But where I see art others might see whatever crazy ppl see I guess... Sigh.

Art is often used to express various opinions, including political opinions. Even Picasso and Goya did a fair amount of political work. Though people probably wouldn't be offended by a Picasso, they may be find more contempory artists offensive. For instance, Steve Shepherd paints real estate developers burning in Hell. I wouldn't keep that up for buyers.

We left all of our art up but took down any pictures of people.

We did staged art from Hobby Lobby that all coordinated (it was on a 50% off sale day). I think totally bare looks...totally bare.
