  • Refinished Tubs

The tubs and showers in our new house are refinished--does anybody else have refinished tubs? How do you recommend caring for them?

Honestly I think they did a crappy job--there are already chips after 2 months of use and I've been on DH to fix the leaky shower in our bathroom for over a month, so that probably isn't helping.

Do you know if they were professionally refinished or a DIY by the last owner? There is a HUGE difference. A homeowner DIY tub refinish won't last very long before is looks sad. Maybe a few months. A professionally done refinished tub should last significantly longer, but still doesn't last that long.

I would start researching new tubs. On the upside, they're not crazy expensive to replace if you can do it yourself.

Likely professional, but it was a foreclosure and done under an asset manager...so probably not the best job
