Un-Birthday Party Ideas needed

I'm throwing a Alice in Wonderland Un-Birthday Tea Party in a few weeks. My eyeballs are dry from looking at pictures online for ideas. I haven't see the newer version with Johnny Depp. I guess I'm going for the 1950's version with some vintage details.

When you think of Alice in Wonderland what is one or two things/items/characters/scenes that stand out for you? I want to work as many of these elements into the party as possible. Or if you have any party ideas I'm all ears. I want to make sure I hit the major parts of the story when setting up my party. Thank you!

I will start by saying between Heidi and I, there is a deep flove for AiW. The first thing I would consider a must would be little cookies that say "Eat Me" and bottles/boxes of drinks that say "Drink Me".

When I just think of scenes, here is my list:
"Home"
Down the rabbit hole (I love the dodo and the "caucus race")
The Tweedles - so you could have the kids (it is for one of the kids, right) maybe finish a poem with a rhyming word. So, you would give them two stanzas with the very last word blank.
The Walrus and the Carpenter - a poem the Tweedles recite.
The caterpillar - his big question was "Who are you?"...
The flowers - I always loved the flowers
The Mad Hatter and March Hair - tea party. Also love the Door Mouse "Twinkle Twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at"
The Cheshire cat - they could have cat "smiles" on sticks
The Rabbit's house - Alice is looking for his gloves - so maybe have a grocery bag of random socks and tights with a pair of white gloves mixed in for them to dig through
Getting lost - Alice encounters all sorts of strange creatures - maybe have them draw their own creature or make on with pom poms and pipe cleaners
The Queen - playing croquet - they used flamingo mallets and hedgehogs, but those might be hard to find and the kids could get bit (not to mention the bird poop in the yard) haha
You could also have some cherry tarts.

You could do a variety of things - based on the ages of the kids (relatively little), and their familiarity with the movie (probably not). I would maybe do a tea party type event. You could do a race where they balance teacups on saucers and have to run across the yard.

That's all for now - I'll be thinking about more ideas

Oh - and the theme of "nonsense" is repeated throughout - which is perfect for a kid's party. Remember, Wonderland is all Alice's dream...

Oh man, I was going to do Alice in Wonderland for A's 3rd birthday, but she decided she wanted Rapunzel. I had pinboard on pinterest and now I wish I hadn't deleted it.

When I think of Alice in Wonderland, the things that stick out are the tea party, and the queen of hearts playing croquet. Also the "eat me" cookies, and "drink me" bottles, like GRU suggested! Mismatched tea cups to drink out of? Signs that say "this way" "that way" etc...

I'm no good for games help, but I think a craft is always fun for kids that age. Something easy that involves lots of stickers instead of paint or glue.

I thought it would be fun if I dressed up at the Queen of Hearts. How the heck would I do that?? The nonsexy costume is over $100. Boo. If I do that my husband needs a suitable outfit to go with me!

Remember, this party will be around Halloween time so everyone will get a kick out of the dress up thing I'm going to request of everyone. hahah! I hope. THey might just hate me. haha!

If you dressed as the queen of hearts would your DH be up for being the mad hatter? And I'm assuming your DD would be Alice?

I haven't seen AiW in ages so from someone who has seen it, liked it very much, but doesn't carry a deep flove like some other folks , the things I remember most are

Yes. My brain is fried looking at Pinterest for 48 hours non stop. I should have asked you ladies first but I thought I would brush up on my Aiw before I started asking.

Can someone remind me where the tarts are in the movie?

I want to attack this party form two angles #1 Decorations that the kids and especially he parents will get a kick out of. Meaning, I'll take any idea even if you don't think it relates to a little kids party. She's so young she doesn't care. Let's be real. The party is for me.
#2 The food and tea/drinks w/ Aiw themes.

I'm going to ask all the little girls to arrive in a white shirt and socks/stockings/pants. As a party favor I'm giving them (that I'm making. groan.) blue tutu skirts and I'm ordering black headbands with black bows. ALL of them will be Alice!! Lots of boys are coming and I'm gong to order and make the Mad Hatter top hats. Think St Patrick's day hats, with the added details. I'll ask the boys arrive in green shirts. These people may not be my friends after this. haha! I also I want to hire a face painter to come out. The location is a private room in my local coffee shop. I just need ideas to dress the place up and food ideas. Coffee house is providing tea service for this tea party.

O you could decorate with some cards. Maybe scatter a deck on the table or something? I love the mismatched teacup stacks. That might be a little pricey, but you could probably get some interesting ones at Goodwill for pretty cheap!
Did you see the blog that had the little Alice scenes in glass center pieces? I think those are adorable.

And it sounds like you've got a LOT of great things already! I want to come! lol!

I'll start pinning some stuff, too, but I had a few more ideas

1) The kids could make mome raths - two popsicle sticks (you could just buy the ones that are already colored, two google-eyes, and one feather (https://family.go.com/crafts/craft-8...ck-critters-t/)

3) The tarts are not in the movie, but should have been I think you'd be OK to include them with the food
4) You could have some type of card game - like making a house of cards or something
5) Cupcakes with the 4 card suits on them
6) Most of the movie takes place in the woods - I'm not exactly sure how to replicate this at a coffe shop, though...
7) Put some grins/grins with eyes (Cheshire Cat) on the walls or hanging from the ceiling
8) Red and white roses - Some type of activity where the kids need to paint their roses from white to red (or whatever color)
9) I like the idea with the lanterns - much like this:

11) Hidden Cheshire grins/hidden rabbit gloves/etc
12) Musical chairs (Caucus Race)

Ooooooo Thank you Jen! I just saw the pumpkin carved with the Cheshire cat face. eeek! I could get a pumpkin, paint it purple, and hand carve the face. yay! Cheshire cat: DONE! Thank you thank you thank. Ok, back to reading.

I saw these and can't figure out how to make them. Mine don't have to look as pretty but if I could get close I would be happy.

Yes, there will be boys and girls. I think we'll have a even split! Most of her friend are boys but we'll have some girls too. This isn't going to be a big party like we had last year. I can afford to do a little bit of everything this year and not worry about buying tons of every single thing I find and like.
