Once a week, over the weekend....boys do their own with the basement washer/dryer, and I do ours upstairs. I am guessing that adds up to 10-12 loads, not including linens, which adds another 4 loads to the total. I can't stand the thought of having laundry to do when I get home from work/running kids.Wife of an OB/Gyn, mom to three boys, middle school choir teacher.

I do laundry at least every other day, just to keep things manageable. I really, really detest laundry and would rather do a small amount more frequently than a huge amount every 4-5 days.Wife to Family Medicine attending, Mom to DS1 and DS2

I usually do at least a load a day. We have a four compartment sorter for whites, colors, darks, towels, and a separate basket for my cleaning cloths. I have a schedule of our sheets on Mondays, towels on Tues, older kids sheets on Wed, younger on Fri, and the other days I do whichever bin is full. I am so looking forward to living in a tiny house someday with a tiny stacking washer/dryer!!

I do about once every other day. I would lose my shit if I had to do a weeks worth at once. During med. school when I was working it was really bad. A few times there was so much laundry that DH made us go to the laundromat. I hate laundry. DH has gently suggested that I do a load everyday like his superwoman grandmother.

Kris, it gets done, but I don't watch it....if I looked at the way they did it, I wouldn't be able to stand it. Getting the second washer/dryer for the basement was one of the best ideas DH ever had!Wife of an OB/Gyn, mom to three boys, middle school choir teacher.

I have to admit that one of my favorite things about my house is the laundry chute (complete with 1st floor access in a kitchen cupboard). I have a 3 bin laundry sorter in the laundry room and when one section gets full or the boy child complains about not having pants, then I do a load or two. In the summer it was only about 3 loads a week with the 3 of us, but now that cooler temps are upon us, it is more like 4-5 loads a week.
However, when C complains about not having pants, he is starting to learn that he should check the dryer before complaining... I suck at getting laundry folded and put away.Kris

Oh dear, we have no organization really. I could easily do laundry every day but do it a few times per week. Kids bring dirty clothes to laundry room, I wash the clothes then put in separate buckets for each child to take and put away. In reality we usually have a large pile of clean clothes somewhere waiting to be separated and put awayTara
