I need a fridge for our house stat. I spent a lot of time trying to find one to fit the small fridge space and couldn't make a decision. Now since we will be renovating the kitchen in a couple years we decided to scrap the small space, get a regular sized fridge and put it in the eating nook, which will eventually be kitchen and won't be used except for kitchen overflow for now. I want a French door/freezer on bottom fridge. Give me your reccs! If anyone has consumer reports could you list the best ones? Oh, I also don't want a water in door. Ice maker would be okay in freezer. I don't like the door dispenser things. We move in in a week!

I'm pretty sure this is the one we looked at GE Profile PFE29PSD[SS] - its also the most highly rated GE Profile on Consumer Reports. Its not the most highly rated fridge, by any means, but we'd like all of our appliances to be the same brand and DH has found a GE Profile stove he really likes too.Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

After having a rebadged LG (it was a Kenmore), I would never, never, never buy an LG fridge. We finally got Sears to replace ours with a Whirlpool Gold after over 20 service calls. The repairmen told us this is common with LG, and there is a lawsuit regarding the lengths they went to in order to gain energy star rating. They basically tried to defeat the test, rather than decide to make a fridge that is energy efficient.-Deb

We have an almost 15 year old GE Profile Performance. It has been serviced exactly ONE time in all the years we had it. It even handled the move with less than gentle movers. We are keeping it until it dies because I don't see anything nearly as reliable on the current market.Tara
