  • Dry goods storage

I've been buying a lot of whole grains and beans in bulk lately, and my bread baking flours are also a bit of a muddle. I want to get some sharp-looking organizers to keep my pantry neat and accessible, and to help prolong the life of my dry goods. The Snapware line gets good reviews, but before I take the plunge I was wondering if there's anyone in iMSN land who has strong opinions about the storage containers they use? Thanks!

I bought a set of Snapware at Costco about 3 years ago. They do the job well, but after a few cycles in the dishwasher, the rubber band that lines the lid didn't hold up. I don't use them for food anymore.

I like the large stainless steel containers with the clear plastic lid that latches down.

          Ooh, snazzy.

Come to remember, my mom left a Snapware food container here and the rubber gasket was totally annoying. On the other hand, I don't anticipate running my dry bean container through the dishwasher too terribly much? Well, I've decided to start with another brand plastic boxes, and thanks to Prime I can get more if I like them! I still need something for 10 pound bags, and I've got my eye on a huge one of those stainless canisters. Thanks!!

I use them for flour, brown sugar, ect. They seal great and keep things fresh. Much better than other types of containers.

If you don't mind storing them in plastic (BPA free), Tupperware's Modular Mates are great. You can store flour in them at room temperature, and the brown sugar never hardens. Here's mine:
