I need more! Tell me what you have!

Of what I have (it's a mishmash from the last 20 years) I like one kind of them. On the pieces it's labeled Splendide 18/08 Stainless Korea. I think I got these at crate and barrel about 13 years ago. They have a nice weight, are sturdy and are a classic pattern. I'm at a loss of what to get as these are no longer carried at crate and barrel and the reviews on the crate and barrel silverware mention pitting and rusting. Ack! They are also made in China. I saw some Splendide 18/10 on Amazon but they don't list where they are made (I think China now) and there are not enough reviews to tell if the quality is still good.

    Help me get more silverware!

    Nice stuff: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/o...%26slotId%3D22

    Everyday stuff: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/o...1%26slotId%3D9

For many years, our everyday stuff was a mismatched cheap set that we would actually toss pieces of because it didn't hold up well. A couple of years ago, the in-laws gave me a Macy's go for my birthday. They told me not to use it on towels. So I finally bought a decent set of sturdy silverware. I love my set. My teens think they are fancy and use the nice stuff, but I try not to use it -- I'm shocked so many people bought it for us -- we got at least 8 place settings for our wedding. Damn. That stuff is spendy.

We have Oneida that we got as wedding gifts. 18 yrs later, the stuff stills look good...well, except for the spoon that DH dropped in the disposal while it was on. Still, that spoon has not changed and I use it as a coffee stirrer.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

We have Oneida. It's good! It just depends on what pattern you like.

        We've had this since marriage.

We added a different set too for funsies (and cause 17 years will make you lose a fork or two and want a little variety). That set is (pretty sure):

I love our Oneida set. Besides the pieces that have gotten caught in the garbage disposal, it's held up perfectly. My one complaint is that the serving pieces don't include a slotted spoon. That's something I'll look for if/when we need to replace ours.

Our everyday is also Oneida - you can't really go wrong with their stuff.

I think our nicer set does. I didn't buy the serving set to our everyday stuff.

We have Lennox. I love it and it has worn well over the last 7 years (minimal scratching, etc). The pieces are heavy, though. I agree with LM - we didn't have a slotted spoon or gravy ladle until this past Christmas. We have service for 12, which is nice from a lazy-person perspective

I always get mine from Homegoods. I'm not even sure what it is, but they work.

My mom's good friend (textbook Southern Lady) had an antique collection of real silverware and she used it to entertain. It was always so exciting to see her take it out of the silver chest. It felt so special.

We bought a service for 16 maybe 10 years ago from some website. DH wanted heavy silverware, so I googled it and ordered the heaviest on the list. Done. Not the wisest decision because they're so heavy if you're carrying a plate with a fork on it, the fork will go ass over teakettle onto the floor.

I have heard good things about Oneida. We're happy with whatever we bought, but I haven't the faintest idea who the manufacturer is.

I have a Yamazaki set too. I love the hefty weight. And the iced tea spoons. They were a must.

So I got some. Not Oneida but from their last us factory that they sold several years ago when they moved all their production to China. It's called Liberty Tabletop. They came today are are very nice. Not real heavy but balanced nicely.
