Dehumidifiers

What is the best brand? How many do you need in a single family residence? Should I buy a freestanding one, or can you purchase one to attach to the HVAC unit?

If it's anything like a humidifier - go whole house. It's nice to have a self-contained unit that you just need to change the filter on. The buckets on the freestanding ones get gross and slimy and usually have a lot of random nooks where shit builds up. I would say something like Honeywell or Aprilaire would probably be fine.
