I've never lived in a older home like our current rental. Its a single story with wood floors and a crawl space, 3b3b. So there's been a odor in my little girl's room. During the winter I didn't really smell it, but now that its hot here I smell it again. It smells like rot. DH said he thinks something died under the house maybe. Could it be in the wall? WTH do I do about this? I can't stand it and its only in her room.

We had a sewer problem last sept or oct but they came over and fixed it. I wonder if it didn't get totally fixed. Its on the same side of the house. Tomorrow I'll go outside and sniff around.
I have her door wide open, plugged in a fan, put a Scently scent bag on the fan, plugged in a Scenty warmer. I feel awful we put her in there tonight. The air freshener I sprayed before she went to bed did nothing. She's moving to the guest bed tomorrow!Wife to PGY5.Mommy to baby girl born 11/2009.

How can a sewer line smell only be in one small room? Its a ranch house where all the bedrooms are off one long hallway. She's in the middle room. Our bedroom shares a wall with her bedroom and there's no odor at all in the house except for her room! I hate old houses.Wife to PGY5.Mommy to baby girl born 11/2009.

We get sewer gas occasionally coming up through our shower or laundry room sink if they haven't been used recently. (I think you all know about our shower saga, hence the periods where we have to use the kids showers...)
The smell is completely disgusting. Hope it gets fixed soon!
