  • LM's Living Room

I'm so excited, I just wanted to share! I really hope this doesn't come across as bragging... We are finally getting around to working on our living room (at the expense of paying off debt, yes. Don't tell! ) We bought a couch and recliner when we moved for medical school, and they suffered from two cats who thought they were scratching posts and two babies who spit up a lot and later spilled lots of milk and food (and pee) on them. Also, our living room had a built-in TV console for a television that was relatively small, so we had that taken out. It's so fun finally having the option to change things and buy real art and replace old furniture. So, in #itgetsbetter fashion, here are some before and afters. We're hanging art on Sunday, so I'll post pictures of those when we get them up.

The new couch has cupholders and a little storage box in the middle, and the coffee table and end tables are like big trunks that open and have room to store things.

This picture was our inspiration for the room. It's big, and it will go above the television.

OMG. We have the same couches - the love seats - in my son's game room. They are soooooo comfortable. We want to buy one for our living room, too. They've held up to five teenage boys of near constant use for the last two years. Enjoy them! Good choice!

Awesome, that's really great to hear! I about cried when we got the total bill for them... They are super comfortable, though, and I love them!

Worth it. Seriously, we wish we had them downstairs. My son wants to save them for his future home since he considers them "his". You won't regret the purchase.

Thanks all! We got them from Furniture Row Sofa Mart. It's a chain. I'll have to look up the brand tomorrow. We actually made a big mistake ordering them and didn't realize how long the sections were. We ordered a 3-seat couch, but it was way too big for our living room. We took out the middle section and moved the loveseat with the cup holders to the couch position, and it worked out, but now we have an odd "chair" in our bedroom. They don't do returns, so we're stuck with it. :-/
