This made me think of you. How is the project going?

Sweet. When I researched Lego organization I found a lot of systems that were organized like that, and my plan was to start with a rough division (eg. color families, or brick types) and then add detail as it seemed warranted. Apparently an archivist's kids are better than these scatter-brain-girl's kids at breaking down their builds and sorting them out on a regular basis.

It's been a week so "cleaning the playroom" was back on the chores list for today. I'm happy to say that things have stayed fairly tidy and it wasn't a big deal, but ashamed to say I still haven't found long-term storage for the paper buildup. That will have to wait until after we come back from Hawaii.
