  • Closets

Redoing our closets is next on our list of house upgrades. We have his and hers closets that are 63" deep (looking in from the door) and 51" wide, with the door on one side. Pretty much they're going to accommodate L shaped designs with maybe space to hang belts, jewelry, bags, or potentially shoes on the 3rd wall. We probably don't want to spend more than a thousand on these. Where do you look for closet designs? I know about Container Store online, but I'd have to call them because their online designer doesn't work with walk in closets. Any ideas?

Do you have an ikea nearby? I like their Algot system.

My in laws ordered their walk in ikea set up entirely online. With inserts and all it was right around 800 and looks absolutely gorgeous. Pax system is what they used I think

Pictures - pretend like it's not a mess.

I think I prefer wire shelving, but this is the first time I haven't had that, and I just feel like it gets dusty. I hang all of my tops, and I fold my pants and put them on shelves. I need a longer space to hang dresses. And I keep my shoes in there.

Container Store will run you around $700-800 each if you catch the Elfa sale. Lowes has recently introduced a similar system but with less flexibility.

Unless they've changed it, the Elfa sale's in January, no?

Wire shelving can be tricky. Things don't sit flat and can fall through the openings. I've always ended up putting another surface on top of the wire shelf.

Elfa sale has been extended through Feb. They have wooden as well as wire shelves and thick plastic liners for wire shelves.
