Yes! Gardening Is definitely a post baby-toddler-preschooler-puppy stage. It is so beautiful to watch though. Something to look forward to. Just keep the kids watered and alive.

Ha. We won the lottery here, our previous owners owned a landscape business, but refused to do anything at his own house. The neighbors told us the city came out and got rid of a bunch of poison ivy and billed him! So we got crazy neighborhood points when we planted bulbs and mowed our lawn regularly. Do not attempt to keep up with the previous owners.Wife to PGY4 & Mother of 3.

My front yard is no muss, no fuss (shrubs and well established big trees).
My back yard has raised beds on concrete with veggies and herbs - I didn't want to fight with grass or maintain anything in the yard. 😀
The chickens handle any bugs that come our way, and the lawn service mows/edges/trims everything in 15 minutes flat.

I'm sure the HOA will not approve of chickens. LOL
I called the lawn service. Our retaining wall is listing and I wanted him to take a look anyway. He's going to come out and tell me what I've got, recommend some easy perennials. If he can give me a decent price, maybe he will do the work too.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

scrub-jay. The bed behind the Arbor has 12 rose bushes. Would they be harmed if I planted some bulbs among them? It's such a large area and it will be several months before we have roses. I hate to leave it bare all spring.

ETA: Don't grow mint. It's terribly invasive. But marigolds would be pretty.Wife to PGY4 & Mother of 3.
