I need a new gas stove/range. The repair man I saw recommended whirlpool as he says they get the least amount of repairs. I don't really want to go high end as if we stay here we plan to remodel the kitchen and I'd rather have a stove top and wall ovens vs the freestanding range. That said I want a stove that is consistent and works well- ie- not a hunk of junk.

    Any recommendations?

I'd start at Sears Outlet, and then cross compare what they have in stock with customer reports online.

We have an Ikea range (Whirlpool for IKEA) and it's been great for 4 years now. No complaints.

Those are great ideas! Unfortunately I'm 3-4 hours from a Sears Outlet and IKEA.
