• Induction or electric?

We are doing a kitchen remodel and I need to decide. Electric stovetop would be about half the cost, but over the next ten years probably wouldn't make a big difference. (Induction costs less in energy, and won't heat up the kitchen as much). I don't care about my pans. They are probably going to go to dd19 as she ventures into renting a home territory...

Do you use induction? Like it? No gas here-- so that's not an option.

Love, love, love our induction! If you are on board with getting new pans, I would go for it!

LilySayWhat - Get this to boil water, it's faster than my gas stove.

My parents have an induction stove. It is FREAKING COOL. They can boil water almost instantly. It's crazy how fast it heats up. I've gotten myself in trouble with it...
LilySayWhat that sounds like an electric stove. You'd know if you had an induction. We have a glass top electric and I hate it too.

We have glass top electric now- it takes about 15 min to boil water. Sigh.

Yeah, induction is not the same as glass-top electric.

Our contractor loves induction. So induction it is. Now the whole double wall oven or wall oven/microwave combo. Eeeeeek hate remodeling but knew we'd need to with this house. Worst kitchen design ever.
